White-Tailed Kites

Medium-sized raptors that hover off the ground, facing the wind. When prey is spotted, they drop straight onto the prey, usually a small rodent like a vole or mouse.

During nesting season, the male will sometimes bring back food to the female, calling her off the nest and exchanging the food in mid-air.
